Local student competes in world’s largest rodeo

BEAR CREEK - Sage Isom, a recent graduate of Phillips High School, will be competing in the world’s largest rodeo in Lincoln, Neb., July 18-24. Isom earned a position on the Tennessee State National High School rodeo team and is traveling with his teammates. He will be competing in the bull riding category. This year is the 73rd annual National High School Finals Rodeo.

BEAR CREEK - Julie Dodd was crowned the Phillips High School Homecoming Queen for 2020 during a halftime ceremony Friday, Sept. 11.

Phillips High students mourn the loss of one of their own

BEAR CREEK - Exactly one week after cancer claimed the 4-year-old life of Wyatt Spann in Winfield, the community of Bear Creek is mourning the loss while celebrating the life of Chase Hulsey, a Phillips High School senior whose life was also taken by cancer at the tender age of 19.
