Key deadlines approaching for primary elections

WINSTON COUNTY - Although the Republican and Democratic primary elections for Winston County are still a few weeks away, some key deadlines are being emphasized for voters who plan to be at the polls on Tuesday, May 19, and/or those who will vote absentee.

The new Lakeland Senior Connections program, which opened its doors Monday, March 30, has been created to serve a population whose mental health needs in the past may have been overlooked, health officials said.

County awarded millions for road projects

WINSTON COUNTY - A record amount of funding has poured into Winston County within the past year to resurface much needed roadways, with the latest two projects totaling $3.3 million in federal dollars, boosting not only recreation, but also tourism and economic development.
