ADDISON - Although another July 4 parade and festival for the Town of Addison may be in the books after a good crowd for the fireworks show finale, organizers have approached the town council with issues that should be resolved before future festivals.

ADDISON - The expansion of ambulance services by the Winston County Rescue Squad also means an expansion of the Addison Fire Station.
The rescue squad will continue to also use the Arley Fire station, but will also have an office in Addison at the fire station on County Road 41 at Alexander Park. This will require a renovation of office space and additional bay space for an ambulance, Kyle Woodard, member of both the fire department and rescue squad, said.

ADDISON - Addison Police Chief Luke Sheppard strives as an emergency first responder to help others but found himself and his family overwhelmed and needing help after losing their home to fire.
The town of Addison is coming to the aid of new Police Chief Sheppard and his family, after they lost all of their possessions in a house fire while they were on vacation.
“You always want to have the ability to help someone, but when you come into a situation like this, and it’s yours, there is not much help that you can provide,” Sheppard pointed out.

ARLEY - Previous attempts to see an ambulance stationed on the east side of the county having failed, a non-profit organization called the Winston County Rescue Squad is being formed to provide 24/7 ambulance service to the area.

ADDISON - The driver of a log truck was injured and fuel spilled, after the truck lost control in a curve and overturned near Brushy Creek, resulting in a call to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management over possible water contamination issues.
