DUNCAN BRIDGE     - A Jasper man who allegedly stole over $1,000 at Duncan Bridge Marina, as well as items from other marinas, is now facing numerous burglary and theft related charges.
Darrell Denver Horne, 49,  of 57 Pear Tree Lane, was charged in connection with the Duncan Bridge Marina case with theft of property first degree and criminal mischief third degree, according to Winston County Sheriff’s Office investigators.
Horne was charged in connection with cases at other area marinas, with two counts  of theft of property first degree and criminal mischief, with burglary charges pending in relation to forcing entry into a home where he was found hiding in the bathroom, sheriff’s officials said.
“He victimized several people in Walker and Winston counties,” stressed Sheriff’s Investigator Eric Faith. “This guy needed to be caught.”
“I can’t stress enough the importance of surveillance cams,” pointed out Sheriff’s Investigator Josh Bennett. “When you have thefts in a rural area, camera footage of the theft is a huge help in being able to identify suspects or any vehicles involved, being able to follow up on leads and being able to take these people into custody.”
