Tis the season for thefts, sheriff’s office warns

NAUVOO - The arrest at gunpoint of a Nauvoo man found with three loaded firearms who allegedly tried to pull a gun on law enforcement, is a grim reminder that the holiday season can also bring increased crime.

DUNCAN BRIDGE - A Jasper man who allegedly stole over $1,000 at Duncan Bridge Marina, as well as items from other marinas, is now facing numerous burglary and theft related charges.

HALEYVILLE - Law enforcement officials are needing the public’s help in finding a subject that was involved in the theft of Jeep Wrangler from a residence on County Road 3433.

Vandals stealing tombstones in local cemeteries


A grave with a rock formation border has several rocks missing at Old Oak Grove Cemetery. The identifying rock with the initials “M.P.” on it is also missing. Josh Tucker and Dawn Carroll look over the grave.
