Betty Sue Prestridge Humphries

Betty Sue Prestridge Humphries, born and raised in Nauvoo, Alabama. Graduated from Lynn High School as the Salutatorian Class of 1962. Retired from the USDA Forest Service and later retired from the family-owned businesses, Feed & Seed, and Bent & Dent Grocery of Double Springs, Alabama.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from  12-2 p.m. at Double Springs Church of Christ, where her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs. Vance Hutton will officiate.  Nichols Funeral Home will direct.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Janice McDonald and JoAnn Martin; grandchildren, Jenady Williams (Lee), Amber and Jacob Martin; great-grands, Brilee Miller, Zoey Bryant (Braeden); Nevaeh and Churtch; great-great-grandson; Colton James and a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty will join her parents, AD and Lillian Prestridge; husband, Horace Humphries; grandson, Nicholas Cleghorn; sons-in-law, Jim McDonald and David Martin; brothers, Ed and JA Prestridge and sisters, Minnie Lee Prestridge, Lois Nelson, Annie Paul Norris, Alta Mae Buchanan, Melda Fay Green and Yvonne Prestridge.
