Plans to beautify Haleyville growing

HALEYVILLE - The City of Haleyville and the Haleyville Area Chamber of Commerce have literally provided some seed money, to help form a gardening or beautification committee, which plans to spruce up areas of downtown, as well as the welcome signs with flowers and landscaping.

Haleyville Public Library windows to be replaced

HALEYVILLE - Leaking and older windows that have resulted in leaks and have fallen into disrepair through the years at the downtown Haleyville Public Library, will now be replaced, after the Haleyville City Council approved $37,583 for the project at their regular meeting, Tuesday, March 3.

Support for hospital hot topic at council meeting

HALEYVILLE - Following a mixed vote from the Haleyville City Council Tuesday, Feb. 17, on giving Lakeland Community Hospital $109,000 in money not to be repaid, several residents from an overflowing crowd addressed the council, claiming lack of city support for the hospital.

Aaron Tippin to headline 9-1-1 Festival

HALEYVILLE - History will be made this year at the city of Haleyville’s 9-1-1 Festival, with a first-ever two-day full concert line-up of live entertainment covering various genres of music, featuring headline act Aaron Tippin on Friday, June 5, and headline act Freebird ATL on Saturday, June 6.
