Farley granted parole
WINSTON COUNTY - Marcus Craig Farley was granted parole Thursday, Oct. 21, by the Alabama Department of Pardons and Paroles.
Farley was sentenced in July of this year to five years in prison on second degree promoting prison contraband. He is currently housed at the Childersburg Community Work Center.

Northwest-Shoals sees increase in enrollment
PHIL CAMPBELL - Northwest-Shoals Community College has enrolled 3,443 credit students for the fall 2021 semester, which is an increase of 82 students, or over two percent, from fall 2020 figures.
According to interim NW-SCC President Dr. Chris Cox, the college looks to build on this momentum and focus on providing the best facilities and atmosphere for its students to be successful.

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Lions won the Class 4A, Area 12 championship Wednesday, Oct. 13, defeating Fayette County 3-0. With the win, the Lions have punched their ticket to Regionals, which begin next week in Huntsville at the Von Braun Center South Hall.

The Addison Lady Bulldogs are the 2021 Class 2A, Area 13 champions, and will move on to the Regionals in Huntsville next week.
