With the exception of a handful of years in the 1920s and during World War II, scheduled games with area opponents have continued unobstructed. DOUBLE SPRINGS - Being a principal is more than just a job for some. It is a lifelong ambition of care for students, faculty, staff and even other principals. Winston County High School’s principal, Jeff Cole, has been a pillar for those who have passed through the front doors of the school since he became principal Dec. 16, 2003.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Lynn Bears heated up their bats Thursday, Feb. 27, defeating the Winston County Yellow Jackets in Double Springs. The Bears won by a score of 19-6.
The Bears took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, with Brandon Hill, Cade Tittle and Chance Majors scoring.
In the top of the second inning, Hill doubled to score John Bryan, making it 4-0.
Winston County High School has free afternoon meals
Brooks Bonds, Kane Moon, Zachary Junior and Trey Williamson grab the free meal after three at Winston County High School.
DOUBLE SPRINGS - When extracurricular activities at school get in the way of food, some students will go hungry or eat non-nutritious food.

FLORENCE - University of North Alabama senior Caitlin Hope McCrary, of Double Springs, was crowned Miss UNA 2020 at the Miss UNA program, "The Greatest Show on Earth", Saturday evening, Jan. 25, at Florence Middle School auditorium.

Freshman boot camp at Winston County High
DOUBLE SPRINGS - There have been many traditions throughout the history of Winston County High School, and this year is no exception. Principal Jeff Cole has something new to offer incoming freshmen, and it is called Freshman Boot Camp.
