Two Winston County Lady Yellow Jackets pitchers rally together to shutout Brilliant

The Winston County Lady Yellow Jackets softball team defeated Brilliant 20-0 on Monday, April 15, as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Emily Hill led WCHS to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-3 at the plate. Hill drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the third.

Lynn’s Barton throws no-hitter

Breanna Barton was brilliant on the rubber on Thursday, March 21,  as she threw a no-hitter to lead Lynn Lady Bears softball team past Brilliant 11-1.
Lynn put up five runs in the fourth inning. driven by singles by Hannah Alsup and Barton, a sac fly by Ashley Aldridge, and an error on a ball put in play by Kendra Hannah.
Barton earned the win for LHS. She surrendered one run on zero hits over six innings, striking out 11.
Sarah Mace took the loss for Brilliant. She lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and 11 runs while striking out one.

Tittle strong at the plate as Lynn Lady Bears defeats Brilliant

Sadie Tittle didn't feel much like getting out on Tuesday, tallying four hits and leading Lynn Lady Bears to a 21-3 win over Brilliant. Tittle singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fifth  and singled in the fifth.
Lynn secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Tittle, Breanna Barton, Jerica Anderson, Tittle, and Barton, an error on a ball put in play by Kendra Hannah and Ashley Aldridge, by Anderson and a fielder's choice by Jessica Fry.

Four RBI day for Majors seals the deal for LHS

LYNN - Chance Majors came the ballpark and meant business on Monday, March 18,  driving in four RBIs on two hits to lead Lynn Lynn High School baseball past Brilliant 13-3. Majors drove in runs on a double in the second and a double in the fifth.
Lynn secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the second inning. Lynn’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Braden Cagle, Riley Humphres, and Reid Cornelius, a walk by Cagle, an error on a ball put in play by Lance Harris, and a double by Majors.

PHS She Bears captures commanding win over Brilliant

BEAR CREEK  - The Phillips High She Bears, ranked fourth in 1A in the Alabama Sports Writers Association easily defeated the Brilliant Lady Tigers 72-34 Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Bear Creek in the first round of area basketball play. The She Bears faced Belgreen in the championship round on Friday, Feb. 8, winning by a score of 83-38. The Lady Bears defeated Covenant Christian Monday, Feb. 11 in subregion action at PHS by a score of 81-34. The She Bears will play Thursday against Decatur Heritage at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville.

BRILLIANT - Brilliant suffered its first shutout of the season at the hands of Lynn in a 44-0 contest on Friday, Sept. 21.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in Class 1A, Region 6. The victory improved Lynn’s overall record to 2-2 and its region record to 1-2 while snapping a two-game losing streak.
